Plot[]

Bakka Hyakken Arc[]

As Hien is outside the Oomikahan domain, his guide asks what he thinks about it. Hien replies that he doesn't like the bloody smell that in the wind. His guard comments that Hien is going after Iori, which Hien says that its normal for him. Hien then mentions how he never felt his life in danger in the years that he has practiced his martial arts, and he doesn't think that it'll be all that difficult to become the new strongest. Hien then heads into Oomikahan to cut down Iori.

When Iori, Zenmaru, Ran, and Kan meet up to travel to Edo, Hien shows up and draws his sword. Hien attacks Zenmaru, but Iori blocks it. Hien quickly backs away and introduces himself to them. Iori comments about how Hien attacks first then talks, but Hien replies that they can understand each other better by fighting then talking. Hien takes a stance and explains his Masamune to them. Iori tells Zenmaru and Ran to step back, which Hien says that he will show Iori his style and takes a different stance. Hien attacks with a low slash at Iori's legs but Iori jumps up. Iori lands and goes to attack Hien, but Hien spins his sword around and aims for Iori's neck. Iori manages to block the slash, which Hien comments about how he thought this was completely settled. Hien then asks if Iori had read his attack, which Iori replies that his body responded on its own. Hien thinks about how that is absurd and back away.

Hien thinks about how Iori's ability is more then he imaged, and mentions how he glad that he is participating in this tournament. Hien also mentions how he hasn't felt this way since he killed his father and that he has been looking for a foe who can be called the strongest. Hien takes his coat and takes a stance to attack, while saying that he will show Iori his specialty. Hien then explains that he has been chasing his dream to become the strongest swordsman and he will finally be recognized as the strongest once he defeats Iori. Iori tells Hien to bring it, which Hien charges and attacks with his Swallow's Boisterous Dance technique. Hien manages to cut Iori and spins his sword around and attacks again. Iori manages to parry the attack, which Hien compliments him. Hien thinks about how fun this is and that his next attack will be faster, while preparing his next attack. Hien tells Iori to show him the sword that he inherited from Jinsuke, which Iori gets serious. Shiba Hien gets excited and thinks about how he will become the best swordsman in the world when he crushes the Ogame Style.

As Hien charges, Iori goes for a lower stance which Hien notices and decides to change the trajectory of his attack. Hien attacks with his Swallow Reversal technique, but Iori uses his Shidensen technique to break Hien's Masamune and wound Hien's chest. As Hien falls to the ground, Iori tells Hien that it's his lose. As Iori walks away, Hien tells Iori to wait since he is still alive and can still fight. Iori tells Hien that he won't continue to fight and for Hien to come back another time, but that Iori would be stronger later. Hien thinks about how Iori wants him to get stronger, when Kan come up behind him and cuts him down.

Abilities[]

Hien is a genius martial artist who has defeated over a hundred martial artists while only practicing his swordsmanship for five years. Hien has never lost a fight and is known as the Invisible Swallow.

Skills[]

  • Genba Ryu: Hien is a master of this style, which resolves around the uses of a special Nodachi, Masamune. With his special Nodachi, Hien is able to perform high-speed quick slashes, even quicker comebacks, and the ability to change the direction of his slashes.
  • Natural Talent: Hien is a genius martial artist, who was able to defeat a drunken adult rounin with just a wakizashi. Hien is also able to quickly figure out what his opponent is capable of and adjust his fighting style to counter his opponent.
  • Reflexes: Hien reflexes are quick enough for him to redirect the trajectory of his sword slash at a moments notice. Hien has done this to either perform a faster comeback slash after he is done with a first slash, or change the direction of a slash that he is already performing.

Weapon[]

  • Masamune: Masamune is a nodachi, with an extra long handle. Masamune doesn't have a guard at the top of the handle but in the middle of it.

Techniques[]

  • Swallow's Boisterous Dance: Hien starts out with Masamune being head above his head, with his left hand holding the bottom of the handle and his right hand on the back of the sword. As Hien swing Masamune, Hien pushes Masamune with his right hand while also moving it down the blade. After swinging Masamune, Hien spins Masamune around and slash at his opponent with a faster slash.
    • Swallow Reversal: is the second form of Swallow's Boisterous Dance. While Hien the Swallow's Boisterous Dance technique and his opponent dodges it, Hien flip his hand around, with his four fingers facing upwards, and pushes the edge of the hilt to change the direction over his slash, while also increasing the slashes speed.

Battles[]

  • Sengoku Iori vs. Shiba Hien
