Oya-san is a shop owner in Unabara. He is also a friend of Shinsuke.
Appearance[]
Oya-san is an old man with black hair that is tied in a top knot and shaved on top. He also has thin eyebrows and wrinkles on his face. He wears a white kimono with strips on it, over a black kimono. He also wears a black apron with a spiral pattern on it.
Personality[]
Oya-san is a knowledgable man as he has an understaking about what happens with the schools in Unabara. He is also a kind man as he went to go help a man that was asking for a doctor. He also has taken a shine to Gama and wondered what happened to him after a few days from meeting Gama.
History[]
Not much is known about his past, except that he became the owner of dango stand which Gama visited.
Plot[]
Introduction Arc[]
Oya-san is carrying a tea pot when Gama asks him which is the strongest school in Unabara. He then asks why he wants to know this, which Gama says that he will challenge them. He then calls Gama a stupid kid when his friend Shinsuke shows up. Shinsuke then tells him that he saw a battle with Baian, which Oya-san looks unimpressed. He then explains that all the schools in Unabara are after the title of strongest, but then yells at Gama for not listening. He then tells Gama that he has to be careful, which he is shocked when Baian shows up. He then listens as Baian explains what happens to martial artist in Unabara. He is then shocked when Baian attacks Gama. He is then confused when Gama borrows a piece of wood and chases after Baian.
Nakaizumi School Arc[]
Days later he is talking with Shinsuke about what happened to Gama, which Shinsuke says that Oya-san is a nice guy. He then listens when Shinsuke says that the schools around Unabara are have a tournament for the title of strongest. When he hears someone asking for a doctor, he rushes over along with Shinsuke. He then asks what happen, which the guy tells him about what happened to his friend. He is then shocked when Gon coughs up blood from his fight. He then asks what the guy who faced Gon looked like which the guy tells him.
